2005 Gold Rider Award

Peaceful Valley Ranch International Children's and Ponies' Ranch of Bandera in the Texas Hill Country

Victoria Kitzman, 4 years old

A very difficult choice for this year as all of our young riders did so well. But we thought our youngest rider deserved it. So we are proud to announce that the recipient of our 2005 Gold Rider Award is Victoria Kitzman, 4 years old who practiced and worked very hard despite her young age. She accumulated the most points in the Equitation classes, 7 and under, and also finished in the top 5 in the nation for Showmanship. Her riding show pony for this year was Hopwood's Ringo Star, who was himself only 2 years old when he started the show season with Victoria. Although he is only 36" tall he competed with her in every class from walk/trot to obstacles and jumping under saddle. Congratulations to both of you!

Ponies and Pals News - 2006 National Awards

An incredible first season for our young exhibitors and ponies just ended. We are very proud of how hard all the children practiced. They all received blue ribbons throughout the year and 4 of them were awarded the National Equitation Merit Award for outstanding achievement in the show ring.

The ponies performed very well, too. Five of them became 2005 National Champions (2 being double National Champions) and 5 also earned Reserve National Champions status.

We believe that this is quite an accomplishment for our first year showing and thank everybody who worked so hard to make it happen. New Ponies

This summer we acquired 2 new show ponies we would like you to meet.

The first one is a very pretty 4 year old pinto mare, 45" tall, from the Red Rock breeding program: Red Rock General's KL Tana. Tana is in foal for a spring baby, so will not be able to join our performance show team until 2007, but we are sure looking forward to meeting her baby!

The second one is a very cute little bay foundation mare named Imapet Mandy, 40" tall, also 4 years old, who was immediately claimed by Victoria as her next show pony, so they are practicing hard and we wish them the best of luck in 2006.

Special Events

During the off season we are training ponies for our 2006 show season, as well as others who will be offered for sale as "show ready" children's ponies. We also have 2 outside ponies here for training, so we are keeping busy!
