Meet Our Ponies
Peaceful Valley Ranch Ponies
Our ponies are the life and spirit of our programs. Some are star show ponies, others are cuddly toddler's friends or quiet and patient mounts for beginners. Some prefer trail rides, while others excel in the jumping arena. Every single one of them is different, but we tried to train them to enhance their natural abilities, and we certainly love all of them. We invite you to meet them and learn more about each one.
P.C. JETT'S FRISCO
"Frisco"
ASPC - foaled May 12, 1997
42"
Breeder: Thoreson Pony Farms, SD
Sire: P.C. Jett Cadet - Dam: Black Head

1998 National Champion: Classic Yearling Gelding
2004 PVR All-around Pony
2005 National All Star Awards:
Top Ten: Leading Rein, Open Pleasure & Classic Costume
He came and it all started. Frisco was our first pony. We actually bought him before we came back from Hawaii to live on the ranch. He was our son, Nathan, first pony and we trained him .Since then Frisco has taught many other children to ride. He may not be the fastest, but he is solid and always there if we need a quiet and gentle pony for a very young, or timid rider, or to take young riders over their first jumps. He can do it all, from leadline to pleasure classes, and more. He has very comfortable gaits and is a favorite for our bareback and circus classes. His biggest fear? Carts! But we are not giving up, yet. After all he was bred to be a driving pony!
DOMINO
Foaled April 1998
41"

We adopted Domino at the age of 4, from a very neglectful situation. Apparently, his only fault was to have outgrown his miniature papers. With his adorable head, and his spots, he became the club's mascot as soon as he arrived. He bonded very fast with 2 year old Victoria, and for a while, she was the only one who could catch him! We finally gained his trust, and after training, he has become a wonderful children's pony with outstanding jumping abilities for such a small size. He definitely is a favorite among the children, as well as a wonderful lesson pony. And, as you may have guessed, his best pal is Frisco!
FORD'S INDIAN SUE
"Dakota"

Top Ten: Classic Youth Halter Obstacles & Classic Liberty
Dakota is one of our top show mares. She is gentle, willing and pretty. She started her show career in 2005, at only 2 years old and performed wonderfully. She was our son's hunter/jumper mare for this year and they did very well. She is athletic and very competitive in the youth as well as the open classes. . We are hoping to start her driving in 2006. So if you come to the shows, do stop by and meet her, she loves attention!
HOPWOOD'S SUNNY CASSIDY KID
"Sunny"
ASPC - foaled July 1st. 1997
44"
Breeder: Hopwood's Pony Ranch, NE
Sire: Kewpie's Sun of Arenosa - Dam: Dandy's Cindy VB

2005 National All Star Awards:
2005 National Champion: Classic Youth Jumper in Hand
2005 National Champion: Classic Youth Halter Obstacles
2005 National Reserve Champion: Classic Jumper under saddle
3rd: Classic Youth Hunter in Hand
3rd: Classic Hunter under Saddle
3rd: Classic Open Pleasure
4th: Classic Hunter in hand
5th: Classic Jumper in Hand
Top Ten: Classic Halter Obstacles
Sunny is definitely a show pony. He likes nothing better than being in the show ring. He even escaped one time out of his stall, and was running towards the ring! Once in the ring he does exactly what is expected of him, whether it is taking a 4 year old child through a showmanship pattern, an older one in a pleasure class, or even an adult through a jumping in hand or obstacle course. Sunny is very athletic, gentle, fearless, and willing. His beautiful color comes from his Arenosa background.
HOPWOOD'S RINGO STAR
"Ringo"
ASPC/AMHR - foaled August 18. 2002
37"
Breeder: Hopwood's Pony Ranch, NE
Sire: Painted Diablo Moondance KC - Dam: Kahle's Racheal

2005 National All Star Awards:
2005 National Reserve Champion: Classic Leading Rein
Ringo is a very special little pony to us. When our daughter Victoria chose him as her show pony, she had just turned 4 and Ringo 2. Not a very likely match, but he was the one. She loved his small size, his friendliness, and his overall looks. He always preferred very small children to adults, and was as good, or even better, than you could expect from a 2 year old. He was quite mature for his age, for the most part, and trained easily. Their first show was The Daffodil (2005), and they did well. I must admit that turning them both loose in that big arena scared me a little, but she rode him well and he listened! They competed the whole year, graduating from Walk only to walk/trot, obstacles and jumper over fences, and accumulated the most points overall in the Classic Equitation classes in the 7 and under division. We hardshipped him in the AMHR registry, so Victoria will still be able to show him even when she can't ride him anymore. I bet we'll see them back in the driving arena!
WA-FULL SADIE'S CRESCENT GIRL
"Sadie"
ASPC - foaled June 20. 1997
44"
Breeder: Wa-Full Farm, NE
Sire: Wa-Full Jim's Sparrow - Dam: Sadorus Golden Girl

Sadie is one of our best confidence builder ponies. With her flowing mane and tail, her big eyes looking right at you and her gentle personality, young riders love her. She loves nothing better than strolling on the ranch loose, but will work if she has to! She has very comfortable gaits and is a favorite pony to ride bareback. Sadie is also one of our broodmare, and is a great mother. She already had 2 foals for us, both as gentle as her, and is now in foal to HOF stallion, Bar G's Rock E Fashionable Lady's Esquire, owned by Leah Johnson of Quitman, TX. We can't wait to see that baby!
HOPWOOD"S GUNSMOKE
"Gunsmoke"
ASPC - foaled March 29. 2001
43"
Breeder: Hopwood's Pony Ranch, NE
Sire: Green Acres Charles in Charge - Dam: Teddy's Honey Dew

Gunsmoke is one of a kind pony. Wherever he goes, he is noticed. With his presence, his elegance and his beautiful way of moving, we thought he would excel in the show ring. We were right, even if it has taken a little longer than expected, due to his cautious nature! Gunsmoke is incredibly smart and highly trainable, with or without a halter on. He is an outstanding jumper and should also become a wonderful dressage pony. He sired 3 foals before we had to geld him so the children could show him. Gunsmoke is extremely people oriented and loves attention, so don't hesitate to come and meet him in person!
PVR PEEK-A-BOO
"Peeky"
AMHR - foaled July, 14, 1996
35"

If we had a cutest pony award, Peeky would undeniably receive it! He was an unexpected addition to our herd, but has since stolen everybody's heart. He is our top Pee-Wee pony. He was a very unlikely show contender, but we had to hardship him into the AMHR, so he could go to the Area V show in June, where he was Leadline Champion! He will do anything for very young children and even went through live turkeys and scary obstacles at the area show. He was scared, but made it with a four year old at the end of the lead! A big heart in a small package!
